Pros: Excellent molded body, accurate interior and exterior detail, awesome rims and tires.

Cons: Tamiya photo etched accessory set sold separately, no seat belts, and no full engine. This multi-performance supercar originally debuted in prototype form at the 2001 Tokyo Motor Show, and the production version was finally released to the public in December 2007. Three Japanese companies simultaneously announced the release of this model at the 2008 Shizuoka Hobby Show in May, but Tamiya beat the other two to the punch. I received my copy of the Tamiya version in the Japanese production box and the illustration of the car on the box top says it all: speed, efficiency, and safety with high performance in mind. The two-piece body is molded in gray including the engine and engine bay.

The one-piece intake manifold is beautifully molded, and with some TLC it can be detailed. The single piece chassis is molded in gray and the two-piece wheel wells are in black as with all the under body parts.

The suspension features typical Tamiya detail. The interior is molded in black, and with some effort and import magazines for reference you can detail it out. Two dashboards are provided for either left or right hand drive.

Decals are provided in typical Tamiya fashion. Windshield masks are provided, as are polished metal adhesive-backed pieces for the rear view mirrors and emblems. A nice set of wheels and low profile tires are provided.

As with the majority of their new models, Tamiya has released an accessory detail set for this kit. These sets give the model a more realistic look but at an increased cost.

This is the first time that any model company has come out with a kit of a current production car so fast; it usually takes a year or so before a kit emerges. Credit goes to Tamiya, Aoshima, and Fujimi. If you like Japanese performance imports this would make a great addition to your collection. Recommended.
